These oversized cards provide a simple, effective way to incorporate pediatric patients into triage and extraction training during warm zone operations. A variety of penetrating trauma injuries challenge responders to assess each patient, identify immediate treatment needs, and determine priorities for extraction to the Casualty Collection Point. Once patients reach the Cold Zone, responders use SALT triage to reassess and prioritize pediatric patients for treatment and transport.
